Shades of Grey [Allan]

As retired policemand and local bridge player Dan Cogan begins to investigate the matter, he finds himself confronted by such issues as the distinction between dubious ethics and clear-cut cheating and is it possible to prove cheating from a session's hand records. And most importantly, what should the consequences be if cheating is proven?

Shades of Grey also touches on general issues such as the motivation for cheating at duplicate bridge, a game that essentially offers little or no monetary rewards.  The astute reader will conclude that these are complex issues with no easy answers, merely shades of grey.
